Having visited the Shingoi stand at Glee 2006, I was very impressed with the presentation of their new koi food. So much so, I commenced my own trials in carefully controlled conditions. I have two 400 gallon quarantine systems, each with identical filtration.
Tank one was fed my existing recommended premium food. Tank two was fed with a mix of all three Shingoi foods. I photographed, measured and recorded all of the koi going into each tank.
The trial commenced on the 1st October 2006.
Both tanks had a running temperature of 24°C, after one month the water in tank one was considerably cloudy, where as the water in tank two was totally clear. After two months the water in tank one was starting to show ammonia levels were rising so the water was changed. In tank two, the water was clear and the ammonia was hardly traceable.
